Many adult foot problems begin with ill-fitting shoes or poor foot experiences during childhood. So let's make sure our little ones are set up for success!
- Measure their feet - both of them.
- Do NOT buy too big. You want wiggle room, but you do not want your kiddo trip and fall because the shoe is too big or to have the shoe fall off as they roam.
Children's feet often grow in spurts. So it is a good idea to measure their feet about every two months.
- Between the ages of 0 and 2, children's feet typically grow by approximately 2 cm a year.
- Between the ages of 2 to 5 however, growth slows down to approximately 1.5 cm a year.
